When Amazon needed a new, bigger workplace that would be a draw for new talent, they called BW.

Through collaboration and a rigorous approach to quality, Amazon now has the creative workplace they need to attract and retain the best tech talent and inspire creativity.

And all completely defect-free.

Having acquired space in the award-winning Sixty London building near Smithfield Market, BW’s team sprung into action to turn exciting design into fit out reality.

Amazon’s workplace is geared around innovation, collaboration and vibrancy – three qualities that BW used to our advantage during the process. Their reception had a full upgrade and eleven floors of flexible office space – including a restaurant, commercial kitchen, breakout areas, and folding walls to allow the space to be divided in 24 different ways – were transformed during the 35 week project.

Fifteen new company acquisitions during the build meant that our team needed to be flexible and quick thinking to keep to the original programme and £3 million budget on track – which we did, despite changes to the base build that meant part of the fit out was conducted in parallel with the main contractor.

We worked very closely with Amazon, their design team, project manager and all sub-contractors to deliver the project, including a complex branding strategy that would allow Amazon’s newly acquired firms to maintain their identity and reflect the parent company’s global brand.
