The Fit Out project

Having acquired space in the award-winning Sixty London building near Smithfield Market, BW sprang into action to turn exciting design into fit out reality.

Amazon’s workplace is geared around innovation, collaboration and vibrancy – three qualities BW used to advantage during the fit out. The reception was given a full upgrade and 11 floors of flexible office space – including a restaurant, commercial kitchen, breakout areas, and folding walls to allow the space to be divided in 24 different ways – were transformed during the 35 week project.

Fifteen new company acquisitions during the build meant that BW had to be flexible and quick thinking to keep to the original programme and the £3 million budget on track. This was achieved, despite changes to the base build that meant part of the fit out was conducted in parallel with the main contractor.

BW worked closely with Amazon, their design team, project manager and all sub-contractors to deliver the project, which included a complex branding strategy to allow Amazon’s newly acquired firms to maintain their identity and reflect the parent company’s global brand.

We’re always keen to hear about projects where we can bring our fit out expertise and Defect Free delivery.
