The Fit Out project
Selfridges back of house was a different world to its luxurious shop floor.
Selfridges purchased the 100,000 square foot Nations House as part of their major expansion plan. After BW’s successful fit out of their elegant Group Executive floor, the client negotiated further office space from existing tenants within the building – totalling 64,000 square foot over six floors – to create new work space for all employees.
BW’s strategic approach and phased completions met the retailer’s need to occupy space before the peak Christmas trading period. Logistical challenges overcome by the BW team included lack of access to the loading bay as part of the adjacent £300 million store revamp.
Luxury touches included a £1 million joinery package, feature lighting and quality furniture. Behind the scenes, BW also installed new M&E services throughout.
Staff moved from cramped overcrowded offices to a new, inspiring workplace that embodies industry best practice and has helped Selfridges to achieve its business goals.
