Graduate Trainee Architectural Design Manager

During the last 12 months BW, has experienced impressive growth in our business with an increase in turnover from £150 million to over £180 million. However, to continue to build on this success, we are looking to develop our staff of the future by offering Graduate Trainee opportunities within our Company.

Candidates will come from a graduate background, having graduated in an architectural or Construction discipline OR in the process of study.

Working closely with a Senior Design Manager you will assist in the day to day coordination and admin associated with the Design Manger role which include:

  • Attending Design Workshops
  • Tracking and updating Design Release Schedules
  • Liaising with subcontractors
  • Managing Samples & Technical Submittals
  • Liaising with architects to rectify any design issues prior to work commencing and during the construction programme
  • Be involved with project specific design issues, proposing practicable and buildable solutions
  • Liaise closely with site-based project teams

Skills & Attributes

  • Construction experience
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • AutoCad skills are a benefit and a good understanding of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook

     

This position is site based (mainly within London)

Creative Artworker Graduate

PURPOSE/OVERVIEW

The role of the Artworker is to produce innovative designs/print ready artwork with direction from Senior Creative Designer in line with the BW brand across the business ensuring a consistent approach and enhancing overall quality of output.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce final files for print across all departments within BW including but not limited to bid design, operations, Defect Free and HR.
  • Create and edit corporate designs across all functions including brochures, graphics, emailers, site signage, posters and other corporate collateral.
  • Liaise with external printers and act as a point of contact for the print companies.
  • Work closely with the Senior Creative Designer and bid design team to follow design and artwork from conception to final sign off, and execution.
  • Keep up to date with the latest ideas and techniques within the design industry.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders across the business and understand their design requirements.
  • Proof own work ensuring documentation produced by all is 100% correct, proofread, spell checked and consistent, in standard company format, before being issued to senior creative designer for final sign off.
  • Assist with maintaining all libraries kept within the department such as BW staff CVs and BW case studies.
  • Liaising with project teams obtaining, preparing and completing project informtion organised in department libraries with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ordering stationary supplies such as paper, ink/toner.
  • Liaising with new starters, retrieving information to ensure CV libraries are kept up to date at all times.
  • Managing and booking photoshoots for new starters, maintaining the photo library and ensuring it is up to date at all times.
  • Production of/and editing site signage such as (but not limited to) team/project boards and environmental transport posters and larger bespoke requests as required.
  • Act as an overflow to bid design where necessary including but not limited to edits to InDesign documents, creation of content using BW templates, refresh of standard documents and libraries.

Requirements:

  • An excellent eye for detail and solid knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is required.
  • Must have a professional and flexible approach and time management due to tight deadlines, with willingness to learn.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment is desirable.

Proven experience of artwork creation and manipulation to a high standard is essential.

The role of Creative Artworker is a full time permanent position working five days a week, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 until 17:30 including flexible working based on deadlines.
